National Junior Honor Society

National Junior Honor Society is a group of 7th and 8th grade students who exemplify the traits of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, Character, and Citizenship.  Students perform acts of community service both on and off campus and are asked to serve as leaders on campus.

Future Farmers of America (FFA)

FFA is a dynamic youth organization that changes lives and prepares members for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.  FFA develops members’ potential and helps them discover their talent through hands-on experiences, which give members the tools to achieve real-world success.

Student Council

Student Council is an organization conducted by students and supervised by adults.  The purpose of the student council is to give students an opportunity to develop leadership skills by organizing and carrying out school activities and service projects.  In addition to planning events that contribute to school spirit and community welfare, the student council is the voice of the student body.  They help share student ideas, interests and concerns with the school wide community.

A-Team (Academic Team)

Our A Team HOUNDS participate in an annual academic, quiz-bowl type tournament with the other middle schools in the county. This is not a quick-response, trivial-pursuit contest. Instead, it is a slower-paced tournament in which players are asked questions from the areas of mathematics, science, language arts, social studies, and economics. The questions are written by educators from district schools to mirror existing curricula. Our goal is to provide an arena of competition in which six students from each grade level are challenged to display their knowledge of the core subject areas.
